matt, glad you enjoyed it!

yeti 2 mang, seems like it. the subject here is the hubble image. let's stick to that. it is important.
beyond pettiness, and wastes of keystrokes,
this image ought to be rather humbling.
i guess not for eveybody though.

As are you when you say "There IS other life out there."

Hand held computers and cell phones (which ARE hand held computers) are so far from a valid analogy I can't waste another keyboard stroke.

There always seems to be that one dick that shows up.

that was quite possibly the coolest thing that i have ever seen in my entire life. That actually gave me chills when i realized that each one of those points of light is a galaxy, and each of those galaxies is like the galaxy that the hubble telescope had a clear image of. and each of the points of light in that galaxy was a star, and the same as in every single galaxy in that picture. and that was just a tiny section of the universe. I seriously felt like i was standing on top of a cliff about to fall off.

If there is anyone who believes that in the great expanse of space, most of which we know little about, that we are the only living, thinking creatures to be found are, in my opinion just being omnipotent. There IS other life out there. We once did not think that hand held computers or cell phones were possible, but here they are and an intricate part of our everyday life. Some day we will travel through space the way we travel across the globe. I only wish that I could live long enough to see and be a part of it all. How wonderful it will all be.
