"when does a wave become a particle? when it is observed..."

i would like to invite someone from the community of science to join us here, to explain this

to those of us who are not scientists. what are the implications of this statement?

obviously i am not a scientist and so i am little bit stunned and confused.

does this mean that the wave knew it was being observed? how?

what is this process?

when did matter become aware of itself?

what are the roots of that awareness?

where's a physicist when you need one?

does it mean that the universe was constructed to be observed?

how does observation alter it?

i m curious.

curiosity, that cat killer, may also be the carrot on the stick that leads us outwards,

with tantalizing promise of a juicy meal.

i can fathom to a dim degree how energy becomes matter.

what i dont understand is how, when, awareness is imbued into that matter.

or is it just born that way?

does anybody know or claim to know?

a lot of questions arise from staring up at the stars.

do they know i am watching them?

i wave often.

and sometimes, they wave back.

see then with your own eyes that starry sky and ask your own questions.

i worry that our natural curiosity is being subdued by television, and the massive amounts

of useless information we receive every day.

hit the OFF button. go outside. look up. think about what you see.

you might be surprised.

some of those stars arent stars.

but you will see this only if you look with your eyes.

That's right, television's world doesn't like independent thought. Waves becoming particles and stars that arent stars?
Is that like "grits aint groceries; eggs aint poultry?"

"when does a wave become a particle? when it is observed..."

there are several different ways you could go with that
